Aniket Dutta, currently on tour with the ARC Project and Motif of a Cube started his musical journey at a small age where he undertook tabla lessons as a part of his family's cultural upbringing. His mother being a classically trained singer introduced percussion to him at the age of 11. Since then there was no looking back as he gradually adapted to play percussive instruments and then moved to the drums. He loves to add FX to the drums and uses Roland triggers modulated via TM2, SPDSX SE and SPDSX Pro.
After a long stint with Nishaan, he formed an experimental avant garde fusion setup called Motif of a Cube that created a stir in the city with its instrumental music and blazing infusion of funk and jazz. This band did a number of indie gigs including Hard Rock Cafes in the country and is currently working on a full length album. Aniket went on to join The Arc Project led by city based singer songwriter Abhishek Roy Choudhury and has been on tour with him since 2016 till present. This band has performed at major venues all over the country and abroad, notably Thailand, Nepal, Andaman and Nicobar Island, and has done over a thousand shows till now. Apart from playing in bands, Aniket has activelly taught drums at Tarang School of Music, Kolkatain the year 2016/2017 and has judged various band and solo competitions in college fests and beyond notably IIT KGP, NIFT etc. He lend live background score for theatre group Shriek of Silence and performed with theatre personalities namely Sujoy Prasad Chottopadhya, Debolina Dutta amongst others. He does live sessions from his studio and has worked/collaborated with Anupam Roy (singer songwriter over a short film), Rivu (Guitarist/Producer) amongst the rest.
Aniket participated in various school fests in Kolkata and won quite a few. Professionally he started his music career with Nishaan, an alternative pop band based out of Kolkata. They recorded and released an original music EP in the year 2013 and won Channel V Launchpad in the year 2014 held in Goa. Nishaan has done countless gigs all over Kolkata and outstation and was critically acclaimed by Rock Street Journal , Times of India and various notable radio channels such as Red FM and Power FM.
